INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 Pound of tomatoes cut into quarters, no seeds or pulp (any variety is good)
- 1 Large sweet onion, cut into thin wedges
- Fresh basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of Culina Domus Smoky Tomato and a little more for finishing drizzle
- 2 tablespoons of melted butter
- 12x12 inch puff pastry (store bought, tender flake) or home made
- Feta cheese and fresh basil for finish
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat oven at 400°F. Combine tomatoes and onions, add basil, salt and pepper, and let sit for 5 min. In a pan on medium heat, put sugar and smoky tomato dressing. Add onions and tomatoes and let simmer for 10 minutes until caramelized. Line a baking sheet with parchment and spread your tomato mixture into 4 parts. Cut puff pastry into 4 pieces and put on top of tomato mixture. Poke the dough with a fork and brush with butter. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Flip over the tart and top with crumbled feta and basil.
Drizzle with Culina Domus Smoky Tomato and enjoy! Serves 4
